Breathpod was born from personal loss, but grew into a mission to help others transform through the power of breath. After losing his girlfriend to cancer, founder Stuart Sandeman discovered the healing potential of breathwork—a tool that allowed him to process grief, release tension, and find balance without words.

Stuart Sandeman, Founder & CEO

Stuart Sandeman is the founder of Breathpod, a breathwork practice dedicated to empowering individuals and groups to harness their full potential through the power of breathwork and music. With a background as a Scottish judo champion, former financier, DJ and music producer, Stuart brings a multifaceted approach to breathwork, bridging personal experience with ancient wisdom and modern science. His distinctive approach is designed to disrupt negative thought patterns, beliefs and habits, helping people gain healthier perspectives and habits on life. 

Stuart trained as a respiratory coach, studying eastern methodologies and western science, before founding Breathpod in 2017. Stuart has since helped transform the lives of thousands of people, from partnering with Nike as their exclusive Breathwork Trainer to working with businesses such as Google, JP Morgan and Spotify, as well as Olympic athletes and creative artists. 

Stuart is the author of the Sunday Times’ bestseller "Breathe In, Breathe Out” and is the host of BBC Radio 1’s Decompression Session. His impact has been featured in numerous publications including The Times, The Evening Standard and The Guardian.

Nova Ayrton-Wright, Breathwork Coach & COO

Nova Ayrton-Wright is a dedicated coach and operations leader at Breathpod, where she channels her passion for emotional well-being and human connection into transformative work. As a former operations strategist and agent at a global DJ agency, Nova is adept at solving complex operational challenges alongside complex human conditions. Her career shift to Breathpod was a natural pivot fueled by a deep desire to help individuals live healthier lives.

Nova’s journey into coaching began with extensive training to hone her skills as an emotional well-being coach. Her approach is both compassionate and direct as she believes in identifying the root causes of challenges to create lasting, meaningful change. She works intuitively, blending insights into the mind and emotions to guide her clients toward greater self-awareness and fulfillment. 

At Breathpod, Nova plays a critical role in overseeing all aspects of the business operations alongside taking care of the community, events, resources and overall health and well-being of the company. Working closely alongside founder Stuart Sandeman, she ensures every touchpoint by Breathpod is a powerful experience for all participants. With a leadership style grounded in compassion, sincerity and intuition, Nova embodies Breathpod’s values—and vice versa.
